Our Approach
At PathWell, we see clients for a variety of different concerns, across the mental well-being spectrum. We see clients who are generally doing well and want to maximize their professional and or personal functioning, to clients who may be experiencing stress or going through a major life change, to clients who are struggling with a mental health concern such as depression or anxiety. Empirically validated techniques are leveraged to help clients achieve wellness, peak performance, and enhanced life satisfaction.
Our in-person services are delivered in the comfort of our beautiful, very private, and discreet offices in midtown Toronto and in the core of the financial district. Aaron is a Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Sleep Technologist with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He studied Psychology at Trent University and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree.
Aaron then spent two years in the Graduate Program in Experimental Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi, where he specialized in the relationship of Sleep to Learning and Memory.
He developed the Evolution Sleep insomnia program in 2013 and specializes in helping people who suffer from behavioural sleep issues. His approach to insomnia utilizes techniques found in cognitive-behavioural therapy for insomnia (cbt-i).
Aaron also has experience with the wide range of sleep disorders and is often asked to speak at public events offering his insight into the world of sleep.
He is an exceptionally good listener and puts his clients at ease when discussing Sleep issues.
In his spare time Aaron likes to be active and enjoys playing hockey and golf. He loves spending time outdoors walking his dog, or cooking barbecue on his backyard smoker.
Aaron is also a guitarist and plays in a band with a few friends and has been a regular Sunday night poker player for over 20 years.

Dr. Chopra is a clinical psychologist, conducting diagnostic assessments for various psychological concerns, including: ADHD, depression, anxiety, workplace issues, posttraumatic stress disorder, chronic pain, and substance use difficulties.
Dr. Chopra completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Windsor, and her doctoral residency at SUNY – Upstate Medical in Syracuse, NY. She has worked in numerous inpatient, outpatient, and private practice clinics, and is also a staff psychologist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
Dr. Chopra has expertise in conducting psychological assessments for medical-legal, forensic, and disability purposes, providing expert witness testimony, and supervision of psychologists in training.
In addition to direct client care, Dr. Chopra has consulted with a number of regulated health colleges in Ontario to develop and oversee the operation of their respective mental health and substance use monitoring programs. She also currently sits on the board of the Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Assessment (CAPDA).
Stefanie Mathes

Stephanie is a Registered Psychotherapist with a MA in Psychology from McGill University. Her approach is informed by the factors that are unique to clients and their circumstances. She also uses the therapeutic relationship to guide her methods in supporting clients to create positive change.
She meets clients where they are, non-judgmentally. Her approach is uniquely dynamic, collaborative and solution-focused, with therapeutic presence and authenticity. She draws from psychodynamic and attachment-based theories, appreciating the importance of our earliest impressions and primary relationships on overall well-being.
She also utilizes strategies and components of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), as well as Mindfulness based approaches. She also has significant experience working with treating addictions, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Stephanie’s clients have ranged from vulnerable populations to successful professionals who are highly functioning, but silently struggle. In addition to working with individuals, she works with couples and really appreciates supporting them in their quest to navigate challenging phases in their relationship.
She also provides family counselling to help family members nurture and improve their bond, improve communication and resolve conflict. She strongly believes that everybody can be empowered to create change and find meaning in their lives.
In her personal time, she enjoys long walks with her dog and toddler, spending as much time as possible near the water in the summer months, and cooking meals for herself and her family that remind her of growing up in Europe.
Dr. Joan Tucker

Dr. Joan Tucker is a psychiatrist in outpatient practice who has a special interest in mental health disability.
Dr. Tucker has written a workbook entitled ” The Humble Tiger; A Guide to using self compassion in Returning to Work after Mental Health Disability”, as she believes in a holistic approach to healing from all mental health conditions.
Dr. Tucker completed medical school at McGill University, and completed her residency training, with a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at University of Toronto. After completion of residency, Dr. Tucker was on active staff at North York General Hospital for almost 3 decades, in all aspects of patient care. Dr. Tucker has been working as a medical consultant for two disability insurance companies, and has provided many Independent Medical Exams for employers and insurers
Dr. Tucker is an outdoor enthusiast, and enjoys cross country skiing, hiking and being still in nature. She also enjoys the contemplative practices of yoga and movement.

Dr. Antonella Magnatta has a wealth of experience as a Clinical Psychologist. She has worked in clinical, hospital, executive health, corporate and private practice settings.
She works primarily with an adult clientele providing treatment for a variety of concerns, including Mood Disorders such as depression and anxiety; personal and workplace stress; relationship issues; post-traumatic stress disorder and other issues to name a few. She has considerable experience treating clients from varying cultures, ethnic backgrounds, religious groups, and sexual orientations. She believes it is imperative to respect and honour each client’s individual differences so that trust, rapport, and comfort can be achieved in the therapeutic relationship.
Dr. Magnatta completed her Doctorate Degree (Psy.D.) in Psychology at the Eisner Institute for Professional Studies in California. Additionally, she completed her Bachelor of Arts with specialization in Psychology as well as her Master of Art in Clinical Psychology at the University of Toronto. She is a Registered Member of College of Psychologists of Ontario as well as a member of the Ontario Psychological Association.
In addition to her direct client care, Dr. Magnatta worked as a professional consultant, cast member and support therapist for a documentary series for the Oprah Winfrey Canada Network.
Dr. Magnatta also strongly believes in the connection between mental and physical health and advocates for examining how the interplay between them affects overall mental well-being. She believes it is imperative that a psychologist inquire and gather information on the “whole person” beyond just the presenting issues. A great deal of research has provided strong evidence that the mind and body are intricately connected and strongly influence one another. Dr. Magnatta believes she would be doing her clients a disservice if she didn’t consider their concerns through a wider lens. She is confident that this additional knowledge can greatly aid her in better understanding her clients, as well as help to tailor and adjust interventions that can lead to better outcomes.

She uses a variety of therapeutic interventions based on clients’ individual needs, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Her approach is to work from a non-oppressive, non-judgmental, humanistic perspective, while encouraging clients to make their own life decisions. She has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families struggling with life stressors.
Christine can help clients develop a greater understanding of relationship/family dynamics, patterns of behaviours that lead to problems, and underlying feelings associated with triggers. She can help improve relationships by developing effective communication techniques to resolve conflicts in a healthy way.
Life is always presenting us with challenges to overcome and it is important to transform stressors into opportunities for change. Christine works with clients to overcome challenges associated with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, self-esteem, personal relationship issues, domestic violence, trauma, family related stress, separation, and life transitions. Michelle Witte is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She provides specialized coaching for adults diagnosed with ADHD/ADD.
Michelle helps to support her clients in managing the functional impairments that ADHD symptoms can have on one’s life, while also highlighting the strengths that can come from it. She helps clients achieve their personal goals, using creative, supportive, and structured techniques designed to maximize success and make their lives easier to manage. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and uses it to help her clients change how they think, behave, and build healthy coping behaviours.
Michelle’s psychotherapy training helps clients fire their inner critic and hire an inner support coach to help them build a more positive and respectful relationship with themselves. Having ADHD makes one a member of a unique community of people who are creative, funny, sensitive, empathic and a little scattered sometimes. With support, compassion and understanding, Michelle helps her clients to embrace and manage their ADHD and start to thrive in in their lives.

Nikita received her H. BSc. from University of Toronto, and a Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy from Yorkville University.
Nikita provides a compassionate, safe, and non-judgemental space for her clients where they can prosper in their therapeutic journey. She is dedicated to supporting her clients and strives to establish a therapeutic relationship that is based on authenticity, understanding and trust.
Nikita uses an integrative approach tailored for her client’s specific needs. She utilizes strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
She has vast experience in supporting individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, relationship/family issues, stress, and self-worth. She also works with couples who are experiencing challenges with communication, and conflict resolution.

Pam Francis has over two decades of experience as a mental health and wellness practitioner. Pam specializes in health promotion, mental health, addictions, and suicide prevention. She previously worked for Nova Scotia Mental Health and Addiction Services, and later as a community outreach worker where she provided education and individual counselling for tobacco cessation.
She has worked with the Canadian Armed Forces as a health promotion manager specializing in suicide intervention, addictions, and mental health coaching for leaders within the defense industry for almost ten years, and sat on the Forces’ tobacco cessation advisory board, Pfizer (Champix) research panel, and the National Addictions working group. Pam has facilitated numerous workshops on stress management, suicide prevention, addictions, mental health, and nutrition.
Originally from Nova Scotia, Pam feels honoured to take part in the process to support her clients in living happier, healthier, more productive lives. She understands how challenging it can be, but how courageous her clients are when they enter her door. Her goal is to make the process as comfortable and effective as possible.
There is no conversation too difficult, and she wants every client to feel heard, safe, not judged, and valued. Pam uses an integrative approach as she believes each client is unique and will benefit from different methods. Some of the techniques she employs are cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and a solution-focused approach.

Anna Siciliano received her BA in Psychology and Social Work and Master of Social Work from York University. She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
Anna has extensive clinical experience working with children, adults, and older adults specializing in mental health, interpersonal relationships, family dynamics, trauma, and caregiver counselling. She has also held several roles within the child welfare sector. Her research interests focus on the mental health of children, adults, elder abuse, and palliative care.
Practicing from strengths-based and client-centered perspectives, Anna uses an eclectic approach of therapeutic modalities with her clients to assist them with maximizing their full potential. She strives to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to where clients can work towards developing a positive self-identity, effectively manage their mood, achieve their goals and foster overall mental well-being.
She also works with clients to help them develop a positive mindset and harness their strengths to achieve progress, rather than focus on perceived limitations. Anna is also fluent in Italian.
She is the recipient of the coveted Saul and Esther Baker Award (2021) for her outstanding clinical and leadership work in the Geriatrics Program at the Sinai Health System and the University Health Network (UHN).

Dr. Bury is a clinical psychologist who works with adults including elder individuals. She conducts diagnostic assessments for a variety of psychological issues including depression, anxiety disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, substance use, work-related disability, chronic pain, and cognitive difficulties such as problems with attention and memory.
Dr. Bury provides treatment using a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy model including the incorporation of a mindfulness approach.
Dr. Bury completed her Doctorate degree at York University’s Clinical Psychology program. She is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and is censed to practice in the areas of Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology.
Dr. Bury has conducted numerous pspsychodiagnostic nd neuropsychological evaluations in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition to private practice, Dr. Bury works as a Psychologist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health where she is involved in the training of psychology graduate students.

Maliha Ibrahim (She/They) completed a Master’s in Counseling Psychology in Mumbai, India (2010), a PhD in Couples and Family Therapy from Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA (2019) and is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in Ontario. Maliha holds certifications in multiple evidence-based clinical models including Attachment-based Family Therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Emotionally-focused Couples Therapy. Maliha has over 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, educator and mental health researcher. Maliha uses a relational and systemic approach to work with individuals, couples, families and groups across various settings- workplace well-being (EAPs), community-based mental health, educational institutions, and private practice.
Maliha has worked as a senior research consultant and advisor for eminent international organizations, including UNICEF, Wellcome Trust and the WHO while also working in coordination with several international research centers (Resilience Research Center, Dalhousie University, University of California (UCLA) and Drexel University, Philadelphia) on various mental health projects including workplace mental health policies, training and development programs in organizations and building an inclusive, stigma-free, disability-friendly, socially just culture within organizations.
Maliha teaches undergraduate and graduate students of psychology and counselling as well as conducts individual and group supervision for therapists in training. Maliha has published over 15 peer-reviewed research journal articles and several book chapters on workplace mental health, interventions for depression, suicidality, attachment and family therapy, trauma-focused therapies for substance use and disordered eating behaviours, the therapeutic relationship, resilience and mental health in minority populations and mental health interventions for youth.

I am a personal trainer with over 14 years of experience and a Kinesiology degree from the University of Windsor. I have worked over 10,000 personal training hours in physiotherapy clinics, healthcare clinics, commercial gyms, small studios and more.
I really enjoy listening to people so I can understand where they are coming from, and from there figuring out where they might want to go with exercise.
I have participated in 24-hour obstacle course races, ultramarathons, marathons, and many other running races. I like to go camping in Algonquin Provincial Park. My favourite food is a burrito from any of the amazing restaurants in Toronto.

With over 10 years of experience, Sara has dedicated her entire dietetics career to helping hundreds of clients improve their health and feel their best by managing their weight. She has worked in distinct settings from fitness centres to medical clinics and counseled a diverse set clientele of many ethnic backgrounds.
Sara has a deep understanding of food expression by various cultures. She demonstrates this by how swiftly she adapts her counseling and treatment plans to cater specifically to each of her clients’ needs. Sara is committed to working with her clients to find a balance between safely achieving their weight management goals while confidently enjoying their delicious cuisines.
Sara has extensive knowledge in food behaviour change and she has also trained under the supervision of Dr. David Macklin, MD, the co-author of the behaviour treatment chapter in the 2020 Clinical Practice Guidelines. Her expertise and training allow her to use the principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help her clients successfully manage their weight.
In her spare time, Sara likes to travel, explore new cuisines, and stay active; she is an avid golfer and Pilates/Lagree Method advocate. She also continues to take Culinary Arts courses at George Brown College, and she has completed several courses such as Baking Arts, Charcuterie, Pantry Cooking to name a few.
